La Reve Café Empty
PostSubject: La Reve Café   La Reve Café I_icon_minitimeTue Mar 23, 2010 1:20 am

Brief description of the café: Wall to wall black marble floors act as mirrors reflecting the overcast crystal chandeliers placed strategically throughout the café. The walls themselves are framed by several large antique silver mirrors. Dark polished wood tables topped with fresh white flowers, and upon the request of the diner candles, add to the almost dreamy atmosphere of the place. And if one were to listen carefully they’d hear soft classical music playing from hidden speakers in the room. Located on the eastern wall is a shining bar offering a vast array of fine wines available to the patrons of the café. The few windows in the large room are draped by billowing floor to ceiling black curtains.

Time seemed to have gone on forever for Mitsuki. For the past five and a half hours she’d done nothing but walk from table to table, taking orders, handing out food, refilling drinks, all while wearing a painful bright smile and pretending that the heals she was wearing weren’t killing her feet. Usually she didn’t mind her job, after all working at a fancy café was a good job. The pay was good, and the tips were even better. But no sane person could deal with nearly six hours of ‘Miss I need this,’ or ‘Excuse me but I want this,’ and all she could do was smile politely and promise to take care of it right away.

Mitsuki gave a sigh of utter annoyance as her reddish eyes scanned over the polished wood of the table as she gave it a final scrub. The place was empty now, minus the few employees like herself that had to stay till the café was spotlessly cleaned. Not that she was complaining, she wouldn’t risk her job over something so silly. She’d put up with it as usual, it paid the bills after all. Or at least that’s what she told herself whenever one of the customer’s tested her patience. Glancing back down at the table a frown worked its way onto her face as she saw that the stain she’d previously been trying to scrub away was still there. Honestly some people eat like complete pigs! You’d that people who could afford to eat here would at least have better manners! Jaw clenching she bent back over the table and scrubbed at it again with the special cleaning cloth, this time with more force.

Finally when it felt like her arm would fall off from all the effort the stain disappeared from the table as if it had never been there. “Finally,” she breathed, relieved that she could at last leave. The tables were done, and the floors had been mopped and swept courtesy of Megumi, another waitress at the café. The dishes had also already been taken care of by another employee. Yes, her work here was done. Shooting one more look around the room she made sure everything was in its proper place before returning her cleaning supplies to their proper shelf in the supply room and heading back to the employee locker room.

The room was deserted which wasn’t unusual, Mitsuki was usually the last one to leave since she felt the need to make sure that every job was done before she left. Truthfully she hoped that such endeavors would pay off soon, there had been rumors in the restaurant that the owners were looking to promote someone to manager. And Mitsuki would really appreciate the salary increase. Thoughts such as that filled her head as she exchanged her heals for a more comfortable pair of black flats (it was still to cold to risk wearing her preferred pair of flip-flops) and hung up her apron next to all the others. Then after collecting her coat and purse she departed through the employee entrance, the door automatically clicking locked behind her.
